The Year 1 Semester 1 Applied Physics module enables Process Engineering students to develop the fundamental knowledge and skills for applying the concepts, measurements, and units of various physical quantities such as work, energy, power, density, pressure, and heat related to process operations. Practical work is an integrated part of the module which develops the basic laboratory skills and enhances the understanding of the theoretical aspects of the topics in the module. Basically, the main focus of the module is to overcome the conceptual difficulties among students by project based learning, problem-solving tasks in groups which will enable them to enhance their generic skills as well. The topics in this module are chosen to provide students with a base much needed for the further study in the field of Process Engineering.
